A single-player script that allows editing handling values, in-game. Useful for developing handlings on-the-fly, without the need to restart the game constantly.
Installation
Extract RTHandlingEditor.asi and the HandlingEditor folder to the main GTA V folder.
Usage
Open the cheat console with the tilde key: (~)
Use the rthe cheat to open the menu.
When sitting in a car, edit values by either pressing left/right, or enter a value by pressing the Enter key on an option.
The menu has options for saving the active handling to a file and loading a handling in the "HandlingFiles" folder inside the "HandlingEditor" folder, to the current car.
The accepted XML format is one Item entry per XML file.
Most options apply instantly. Some options need a repair/respawn of the car, or even a savegame reload.
Notes
v2.0.0-beta is a beta release and still unfinished. I'm not developing this any more, but it lacks the following features that might one day be implemented:
Also please give FiveM a try (which supports reloading resources, or so I've heard) or Lenny's Mod Loader, which also supports resource reloading.
Source code on GitHub, as usual.
Changelog
v2.0.0-beta
* Revamped the entire thing with an in-game menu, removed hotkeys
* Load and save .XML-formatted data instead of the old .ini
* Added some semblance of handling management, with the folder
v1.6.1/v1.6
* Experimental: Try using patterns to find handling offset. If it works, it's more future-proof.
* v1.6.1 uses Unknown Modder's pattern, but for 1180 should return the same. v1.6 might not work for all versions.
v1.5
* Update offset for v1.0.1103.2
v1.4
* Update offset for v1.0.944.2
v1.3
* Update offset for v1.0.877.1
* Correctly apply Bias pairs
* Correctly apply Ratio pairs (thanks, leftas!)
* Add flag reading/writing
v1.2
* Added XML/.meta reader!
* Add notifications
* Fix fAntiRollBarBiasFront wrong value
* Fix fDriveBiasFront special cases for 1.0 and 0.0
v1.1
* Changed metrics to only show longitudinal and lateral G-Forces and y-acceleration in m/s2 (forward and backward)
* Added size parameter for info block
v1.0

- Proper vehicle respawn that keeps all tuning and extras
- Support for the SubHandlingData entries
- Better menu navigation, as "Enter" now sometimes closes the text box too quickly (just keep spamming Enter until it stays)
Also please give FiveM a try (which supports reloading resources, or so I've heard) or Lenny's Mod Loader, which also supports resource reloading.

@ikt Wow man just found this, from one thing to this, after all these years. You'r legend!!
@ikt I use steering wheel and drift mod but find it so hard to control my car. Have you got any ideas/mod to help my issue thanks bro
@ikt For some reason when I use this with a certain Add-On vehicle it seems to lower the overall speed for some reason. All I used it for was changing the suspension lower/upper limit setting. Any ideas?
@Sun1
Don't use a drift mod.
@Wargamerstev63
There might be a bug that the handling data gets corrupted. I don't know what actually happens, though.
anyone have any sort of drifting config or anything? Im really bad at this lmao
@samsv2 mess around with the camber stiffness, traction lateral curve values, steering locks, traction loss. The typical stuff. Oh and drive force too
Can this change dialogue
Woah, this update was unexpected and it's AWESOME!!!
When I press the '' ~ '' message appears ''move foward through door'' And the car moves 1 meter. Do I have to put any files in the folder first?
Anyone ever figure out a scale for downforce value? Has changed on newer updates. Used to be in the range of like 1-5. Now it is in the hundreds for some vehicles. Anybody have any idea what the actual translation to pounds of downforce at certain speeds for the old value?
Also something I have noticed in the past year. Some cars just seem to have underlying handling attributes unaffected by whatever values you put for weight dist, suspension attributes and roll bias. Some cars are floaty for instance no matter what you use for grip. Some cars have a rear spin tendency no matter your weight dist and grip and susp. Advanced flags being removed don’t seem to matter. Anyone notice stuff like that. Seems like there are hardcoded attributes in each vanilla vehicle.
This and your other mods are absolutely crucial for any decent driving experience btw.
Hey man @ikt its a blast using this mod but i dont think this supports inverse power within the mod like @stillhere 's drive modes. I wish u could integrate this one and the last thing to fully lock this mod for the rest of eternity. LMAO. THanks again for the efforts lads. Much love.
i mean the inverse drive bias front line in code. please add so u could go in 'minus' values.
will this or is there a version of this that work online?
could you add a key to open the menu?
Hey, this is an amazing tool thank you. I am gettin CTDS when trying to save my handling config in game. My game crashes as soon as i select "save" in the menu. Any ideas what could be causing that?
@ikt
youtu.be/NF_f-I7twqY
some cars starts shaking after changing handling any ideas on how to fix this ?
@MD Makaveli
Don't use it? RTHE isn't intended for runtime handling replacement, it's just for real-time editing - and then saving and applying it in the proper handling.meta.
@ikt yes that's what i do but this happens even after applyig it in the vehicles handling files
Whenever I step out of the gas pedal, my car decelerates too fast. Does anyone know what item I should edit in order to keep going for longer when I take my foot out of the accelerator? Thanks!
